My work explores “emotional landscapes” to abstractly visualize mental patterns. I have struggled with anxiety and depression for a number of years, but I have found rhythmic practices like meditation, breath prayers or mantras to be helpful in regulating anxiety.

Over time, my collage works have taken on compositions and shapes that feel to me like these rhythms of the mind. I like to think of these works as “wordless poems.” Their rhythm and how they sit in their environment is considered, and the negative space is just as important as the positive. The absence is as important as the presence.
